                                                                                                  Wireless Technician

 

The Configuration Technician is responsible for the assembling, monitoring, configuring, testing, and repairing of telecommunications and associated electronic equipment per specifications and operational procedures, both in technical logistics facilities as well as staging centers.

 

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Assembles and/or configures and tests telecommunications and data equipment, including but not limited to, routers, switches, modems, wireless devices.
  • Performs testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment according to published equipment standards and work-instructions.
  • Supports operations and implementation on failed equipment through troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
  • Perform duties that are fairly routing in nature, such as, loading provided configurations, routine testing of telecommunications and data equipment, troubleshooting and repair of electronic components.
  • Normally follows standard procedures and guidelines. Solves routine problems and refers issues to more experienced technician or management as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Associate degree in electronics or military training is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the assembly and configuration of telecommunications CPE equipment including Cisco, Viptela, Juniper, or ADTRAN.
  • CCNA, A+ or other network certification a plus. 
  • Government Security Clearance (higher than a level 6C security clearance) is a plus.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of Cisco IOS, ROMMON and SDWAN platform, the fundamentals of JUNOS OS and STACK, and Linux is a plus.
